MAINTAINING LIFESTYLE

Changing the lifestyle involves going through numerous stages and processes for every individual who wants to change their habits, behaviors, and daily functioning.

The process involves several stages. In the first phase, we don’t really think about change, but others do it for us, so we listen to advice and politely reject it. After a while, we “give in” and start thinking about changing ourselves. We weigh the positives and negatives, question our motives, and if the calculation is successful and we prepare everything we need, we are ready for action. Once we get going, it’s easy to fool ourselves that the change has been made. In fact, it is only about the first steps, and what follows is maintenance and perseverance with occasional “relapses”, i.e. returning to the old ways.

Almost every change goes through these phases, and the duration and intensity of the phase depend on the person. What is crucial is preparation before the action. Preparing in this case means informing about everything that the change brings. It also means gathering information about all the resources we need to achieve our goal. If our goal is to lose weight, then the resources in the ideal process include training and a trainer; a diet and nutritionist; motivation, support, and a mental coach. Without these resources, the probability of success is significantly lower, and with them, the journey itself is more pleasant, and success is higher. A mental coach psychologist is a person who will guide the client through the entire process, introduce obstacles, explore motivation, and provide support in moments when the possibility of relapse appears.

One of the benefits of working remotely is the freedom to travel. For some, it’s about solo adventures. For others, it’s about exchanging experiences and resources with like-minded people. Catering to globe-trotting remote workers, a number of new coworking and coliving locations have started popping up over the last decade around the world.

Ask any remote worker about their quality of life, and you can be pretty sure they’ll be happy to regale you with the many benefits of location-independent work. Freedom from regular office life can be liberating and conjures up glamorous images of people taking surfing breaks from their pop-up offices on the beach or working from the hippest coffee shops in all corners of the world.

No matter how exciting a remote job may seem, balancing what you need and what you want can be a challenge. For many, whether working from home or traveling to places where the language is not known, the lifestyle can become isolating. And for those who are often on the road, loneliness and a growing sense of not belonging to any place or community are real problems.

It’s well known that working alone, neglecting self-care, and failing to check in regularly can lead to burnout. For designers who love what they do, it can be all too easy to continue a project until they are exhausted. Those eight-hour days can quickly stretch to 10 or 12 hours – or longer. Working in a coworking and coliving environment can help you keep a lid on your work hours.

How do mitigate the disadvantages of remote working mode? To cope with the challenges of working in isolation, many remote workers focus on routines, to-do lists, regular exercise, or occasional social video calls with remote colleagues for social interaction. However, it feels like a huge trade-off, rather than building a more resilient sense of community into one’s lifestyle. The coliving/coworking trend offers a ready way to find community in an often confusing and lonely world.
